All Solid Acacia from Kala!
This beautiful, all-solid Striped Acacia will turn heads and please ears. Decorative features include a slotted headstock with vintage styled gear tuners, custom abalone fret marker inlays, maple binding and vintage-style herringbone purfling. Acacia is also called Mimosa or Shower Tree; these tropical trees are cousins of the Hawaiian Koa Tree. They have gorgeous striped patterns of light and dark brown and have a deep colorful tone that match their beauty.
For the last decade this model has been one of our best selling models. The binding is now maple wood and the fretboard and bridge are walnut. They lightened the weight of this instrument and increased the resonance and the new SA-T is certainly one of the best options for a high quality, modestly priced solid wood tenor.
Take a listen to this sweet sound sample from Corey.

I was astonished 0 people found this helpfulI don't own this uke, but a friend of mine does, I've tried it, and it's an amazing instrument, very playable, great especially for begginers, and it's also beautiful, can't complain.

Light, mellow and pretty 0 people found this helpfulI had one of these a few years back. It was my first real (i.e.: not-a-toy) uke. It's a very light instrument and it has a smallish and somewhat narrow neck. The sound is not too far off Hawaii Koa - certainly it's quite distinct from mahogany. Overal, a very nice instrument, sounds great strung high or low g.

Great looking and sound 0 people found this helpfulMy friend and I both bought this uke from HMS last year. The sound is great especially after I changed the strings to Worth BT. Though the fret of mine is slightly higher than my friend's, but with the the amazing slotted headstock and unique fret markers, I am still loving it!

Best acoustic sound 0 people found this helpfulI bought this uke a little over a year ago. I love playing it, and though I have other ukes (including more expensive), this is my go to. After hearing someone else play it recently I appreciate the sound even more. The sound is full, to the warm side I would say (with a low g setup) and expressive. For acoustic sound, nothing I own beats this one. I would recommend however that you ask for setup with different strings (not the standard Aquila). It's subjective I know, but I think the best sound with this uke is with flourocarbon or classical guitar strings. But if you get it setup with Aquila strings you'll have larger slots in the nut that make it more challenging to match the action to a narrower string later.

Great Mid level Uke! 0 people found this helpfulI bought this at Hawaii Music Supply in 2011. I used this ukulele for about an year before buying a custom uke. For the price of the ukulele, I think it has an awesome sound. Very accurate tone and very nice design. The satin finish is nice but the area's that your arm rubs a lot tend to start to gloss. A great mid level ukulele.
