The AT has been a hit for the last decade, but this latest version looks and sounds better than ever! It now has an ebony bridge, fingerboard, and faceplate. The sound is warm and full with wonderful projection.

Acacia is part of the same family of trees as Hawaiian Koa, and it comes from a very similar species found throughout Asia. This instrument was built on one of the Indonesian Islands, with hands-on guidance and quality control from the Ko'olau Ukulele Company. The finest instrument makers construct these instruments to Ko'olau specs and design. This satin finish is very clean. The woods selected for this model are beautiful and instrument grade, as well as cut and dried properly.
A key feature, in all of the Pono tenors and baritones, is the dual-action adjustable truss rod. The truss rod stabilizes and adjusts the lengthwise forward curvature, also called relief, of the neck. It can be easily adjusted from inside the soundhole using the included allen wrench. Over time and with humidity changes this is a very useful option to have.

Zero complaints. Love everything about this uke 0 people found this helpfulI bought this uke a few months back and wanted to wait until I had some solid play time on it before posting my thoughts. Well this ukulele is everything I was hoping for and more. My other uke is the Kala Travel tenor which I love but it can't compete with the Pono. Sweet sound for fingerpicking or strumming. Nice finish and theukulelesite.com did a great job with the setup before shipping so I didn't have to adjust anything before playing. The acacia wood is very pretty too and is hard to put down when you combine the great looks and amazing sound. No complaints here and recommend this uke for anyone looking in the $400 price range. This uke is a keeper for me and will be played for many years to come.

Excellent Uke 0 people found this helpfulI purchased this from MGM, who was a real help, in late December '11 and have not put it down since. I love everything about it: the sound, the action, the intonation, the tone...everything. I have been a guitar player for 15 years and this is my first uke, and I haven't picked up my guitar much since. When I do pick up my guitar, I have a better knowledge of the top 4 strings now and a better appreciation for the low range of a guitar, thanks to my application of guitar knowledge to the uke. I have it strung with a low G and have really been studying on it more than anything. I have also been playing and singing songs I already know on the guitar on my uke. I love it! I would recommend this uke to any uke player out there, and if you are a guitar player thinking of taking the plunge, do it. You'll like it way more than you expect and your playing will come full circle. Thank you Hawaii Music Supply and MGM!!
