These won our best in show at the 2012 NAMM. Finally we get some in, and they don't dissapoint! A classy vintage look in a resonate tenor with great intonation, quality construction, and a price tag well under 200.

Gretsch has copied their classic look and voiced them like you rarely find at this affordable price . After our setup work, this tenor is unbeatable!

I was looking for an inexpensive tenor that I can play anytime without worrying about the outdoor environment - humidity, sea air, kids, dogs, well-meaning friends. I saw the Gretsch on this site and figured, what the heck - I can't go wrong for the price specially with the free set-up offered. I received my ukulele with a set-up low and I think they dressed the frets as there was still some dust on the fretboard. The intonation (a pet peeve of mine) is dead on up and down the fretboard. I change the strings to Worth clears and it sounds sweet. Although not load as the solid tops I have, it is a great value for the price. It is now part of the rotation with my other ukuleles when I kanikapila with friends or rehearse with my group.

I'm a beginner uke player. Last year I bought a $30 soprano at a junk store and was hooked. When I decided it was time to move up, I spent a lot of time on the Ukulele Site listening to the different ukes in my price point and comparing them to the high dollar ukes. I was amazed at the rich-sounding tone of this one. If only I could play it as beautifully as the guy playing it on the site! It comes with a decent canvas case, and after having it a week, I realized something was in the pocket of the case. HMS had included extra strings and a strap! My experience with HMS was great from start to finish and I will definitely do business with them in the future.

I love my new Uke! This Gretsch has a simple and very nice look to it. The sound is fantastic for a instrument of this price. The final setup done by HMS really does make a difference. I was fortunate to buy my Uke in the store on the north shore. Andrew and Aaron were great to deal with. They suggested and sold me the Uke that was right for me. We went back to see live music in the parking lot on Thursday night. Andrew even pointed us in the direction of some more good local music. If I am ever fortunate to find myself on Oahu again, I will buy my next Uke form The Ukulele Site store. If not, I will definitely buy it from their online store. Mahalo!

I decided on the Gretsch Tenor for my first ukulele, after weeks of comparing many different models. But for the value, especially for a first ukulele, I think I made an excellent choice. I'm very happy with this uke. The look & feel are excellent. The tone is very nice, warm & smooth. I did purchase it the Worth low-G brown strings. But it came with clear strings instead. That was a little disappointing, But hey, for this price & package & other setup, I really can't complain. Instead, I should learn how to re-string a ukulele. I have no doubt that in a couple years I'll be coming back here to get a solid wood ukulele. I love this site for all the descriptions, reviews, and the ability to listen to the instruments. Thank you, HMS!
