Solid Spruce Top Concert from Kala!

This is a best seller in the store for many years with great reasons; affordability and quality buildmanship. Solid spruce top will keep improving in warmth and resonance making it a great musical companion for many years while mahagony back sides keeps it balanced with a warm tone!

With Kala, as with many makers, the satin and gloss are both a lacquer finish. Satin gets a final coat that makes it a more natural sheen. It needs less coats and often has a cleaner attack and "woodier" tone.

Take a listen to Corey with this sweet sound sample.

Traditional white/black binding accent the high gloss finish and chrome die-cast tuners will keep your instrument in tune. Active EQ options available.

This was my first serious ukulele, and it is still serving me well years later! It holds a lovely smooth sound while retaining the classic Hawaiian feel, and had only grown on me with age! I would highly recommend this ukulele, and Kala in general for people who are looking to take a step up into real ukuleles after learning on a cheap laminated one.

I still have this ukulele... even if I now have much more expensive models. The spruce is nicely figured the build is great for a production model (even if you can see some glue along the neck joint. The intonation and action is average but good enough for me (I usually wince on cheaper models from Kala, but not on this one). All in all excellent value for the money !

This was my first real uke and I still pick it up though it has become my 7 year old son's. The tone is loud and clear, sustain is decent and the workmanship is very good for the price. The neck is quite narrow so small hands will like it though new players with large hands (like me) may have a hard time as the G and A strings are easy to push right off the edge if you aren't careful. Mine came with Aquila strings which is a great match as it can have quite a bit of volume with this combo. Overall, a great uke for a new player with small hands and limited budget.
