The Pro Classic Line is getting replaced with the new Master Series line. This is a long loved model Pono will no longer make and it’s now 40% off!

Pictures show exact ukulele available here. Video shows the same model.

The materials used on the newest pro classics are top notch. The body is quarter sawn Honduran Mahogany, an expensive mahogany used for the best musical instruments. Ebony frames off the top and back of the body. The bridge and the fretboard are also ebony and the faceplate is Macassar ebony. The tuners are machined perfectly for smooth use and long term stability, 18:1 gear ratio Grover. The nut and saddle are bone, and the wooden oahu arched top case make this a wonderful package.

There is a slight curve to the fingerboard, nut, and saddle. This is what we are referring to as the fretboard radius. It makes chording easier and allows for low action and an extra sweet feel.

A key feature in all of the Pono tenor and baritone models is the dual-action adjustable truss rod. This is used to stabilize and adjust the lengthwise forward curvature (also called relief), of the neck. It can be adjusted from right inside the sound-hole with an allen wrench provided. This is something you will probably not need to adjust. But over time and with humidity changes, it is a very useful option to have, and a very easy thing to adjust.

This wonderful feel compliments a tone that truly sings. It's a full bodied sound with clarity and warmth, this is the classic mahogany tenor sound at it's best. Ko'olau is very exacting and the results are impressive! This is an instrument to love and cherish for life!

I bought this Ukulele a few weeks ago. It arrived well packed in stunning perfect condition. The Pono strings are a little stiff if you are used to playing well broken in nylon, but my fingers are quickly adjusting. The instrument has a mellow distinct tone, and the sustain is very good. I have played once in a group of guitar, barritone uke and this tenor uke, and the combination is nice. It holds it own in natural volume. The quality is apparent from the moment you pick it up, and there is a noticable difference between a solid wood instrument like this one and a less expensive laminate (I own four others). I can't imagine a more solid feel. I checked every possible angle in good light and can't find a single flaw. You get your money's worth.

I am new to the ukulele and it is my new favorite instrument. The finish is flawless and the quality craftsmanship is very evident when you first pick it up. I am a perfectionist and the level of attention to detail is impressive to me. The sound is outstanding.....it can go from soft to loud and back again all the while still maintaining that very sweet voice. The mahogany should mellow out as it ages making it better as time goes by. I can't imagine it getting any better! Been playing Blues style music on it so far this and this thing has got lots of mojo!! The service and setup of the instrument is as advertised. Perfect out of the box. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You may find the same instrument somewhere else, but what you get here goes beyond someone grabbing a uke off the shelf, stuffing it in a box and slapping on a shipping label! I will be a return customer for sure. Daniel in North Carolina

I purchased this ukulele two month ago in october 2012 and I'm more than pleased with it. It is beautiful, it sounds absolutely great and the playability is perfect. I can barely put this uke down... The craftsmanship on this ukuele is outstanding and the satin finish was the right choice. The feel, look and sound is very 'natural' and brings out the beauty of the wood so nicely. The satin finish on the neck especally is great. There is less friction when you are switching between chords. I chose the low g (Ko'olau Gold) option and the ukulele sounds stunning with it - rich tone combined with an awesome sustain. The guys from HMS were more than just helpful. Joel took his time to explain to me the differnces between the satin and the gloss finish and answered all the questions I had about this ukulele. Despite the time difference between Cologne/Germany and Hawaii HMS responded to my emails within a matter of hours. The ukulele arrived save and sound since it was very well packed. The setup done by HMS is perfect. The Oahu deluxe hardshell case will keep it save on the road. I can't recommend this ukulele enough! Thanks HMS for the perfect service and this beautiful ukulele.
