Kanile'a for Superb Quality 1 people found this helpfulI have had my Kanile'a concert for a couple of years now. It is a wonderful instrument. So easy to play and with a sound that I think is unique to concert ukes. Kanile'a ukes seem to me to have a very rich, deeper sound that other ukes. They are "classy". The higher notes aren't lost though, it is a rich sound across all strings. The construction is superb. Everything feels right and balanced. It is a joy to play, the action is nice and low and fingering is so easy. The finish is spectacular and the woods they use are breathtaking. The HMS guys will send you the best they have at any one time, trust them! Everyone I know who owns a Kanile'a loves it. These are top quality instruments. You are paying for construction and skill in making an instrument that can easily last a lifetime. If you are at intermediate or advanced stage in your uke playing, you owe it to yourself to get an instrument that will respond to your touch exactly. The Kanile'a concert will do that!

Everything I was looking for 0 people found this helpfulAfter months of research and agonising over which way to go I contacted MGM about the K1 C Gloss ukulele. Mike was fantastic, emailing me photos from his phone on the shop floor and staying patient as I asked him endless questions. I'm in Australia and Kanilea's are thin on the ground here - I'd never even seen one - so buying online was a big step. I tracked the parcel from Hawaii to Australia, my excitement growing by the day. And I still get a thrill every time I open the case and hold it. The finish and workmanship are a knockout. The tone is just what I was looking for and although the fretted C string is a bit dull, I think it is opening up over time. I put on some Living Water strings and I just love it. Thanks Kanilea and MGM for this instrument which is just a joy.

Kanile'a Koa concert mellow sound 0 people found this helpfulOur Kanile'a Koa concert is a beautifully made instrument My wife & I share it. The sound is so mellow. I call it buttery. It is so loud! My wife loves it but I prefer a cleaner brighter fuller sound of my Pono It is the most exquisitely built uke we own. The workmanship is wonderful. Did I say it was LOUD!

kanilea k1 1 people found this helpfulIt´s my first and only hawaiian uke and I have to tell that´s it´s worth any penny you´re investing on it. It looks just gorgeous and the sound is brilliant. The intonation is perfect too. It´s the only concert I have cause I never got used with it. But I have to admit since I got this one my tenor size ukes are not being used. The playability it is just incomparable with any other uke i have.
