Pono Mahogany Concert! Simple yet tasteful.
The MC is a Concert sized solid Mahogany 'ukulele with Pono geared tuners, satin finish, and a beautiful vintage "rope" rosette. The look is simple, but beautiful, as is the tone. The tone is nice and balanced and plays "true" all the way up the neck. This uke now has ebony for the bridge and fingerboard. Corey gives us a sound sample.

Great value and great sound 0 people found this helpfulSome of Jake's songs require too much of a stretch for my little fingers on my tenors, so the perfect answer was to buy a concert. This little guy doesn't have any "bling" but it does generate a really warm sound, and volume is not an issue. For the price I don't think you can get a better value.

worth every penny! 1 people found this helpfulI started out with a Cordoba 15-cm and thought that it was a beautifully build and great sounding uke. Then I got an itch to upgrade and pono was calling my name. At first I thought the sound was muddy and the build to be a notch below the cordoba, well it turns out that the pono is braced for TONE as opposed to shear volume that the lower end cordoba is going for. After stringing it with worth clear strings, the instrument took on a new sparkle and the playability became much easier due to the thinner strings. If you like mellow sounds though stick to the stock strings as they are thicker and have a more rounded tone at the expense of a top end shimmer, mid range snap and playability. over all I'm loving this instrument more and more every day.

Elegant simplicity 0 people found this helpfulMy Pono MC "refuses" Aquilla! It buzzed on some strings and frets when I put them on, so I replaced it with the original strings it comes with--Koólau Mahana (if the info from an online ukulele site is accurate). So far, imho, it has sounded best that way, though I suspect it'll sound as good with a low g. I find its architectural design simple yet quite elegant. I also appreciate the fact it has a thick body, which I believe helps its resonance.
