The AT has been a hit for the last decade, but this latest version looks and sounds better than ever! It now has an ebony bridge, fingerboard, and faceplate. The sound is warm and full with wonderful projection.

Acacia is part of the same family of trees as Hawaiian Koa, and it comes from a very similar species found throughout Asia. This instrument was built on one of the Indonesian Islands, with hands-on guidance and quality control from the Ko'olau Ukulele Company. The finest instrument makers construct these instruments to Ko'olau specs and design. This satin finish is very clean. The woods selected for this model are beautiful and instrument grade, as well as cut and dried properly.

A key feature, in all of the Pono tenors and baritones, is the dual-action adjustable truss rod. The truss rod stabilizes and adjusts the lengthwise forward curvature, also called relief, of the neck. It can be easily adjusted from inside the soundhole using the included allen wrench. Over time and with humidity changes this is a very useful option to have.

I already own a Lanakai Tenor (Spalted Mango) and while it sounds nice, I wanted something with more volume and tone -- not to mention something without too much finish. I asked for advice and the owner of Hawaiian Music supply gave me a few different recommendations satisfying my specific criterion and price range. One of the these recommendations was a Pono-AT (Acacia Tenor). What made this even more attractive was the extensive work involved in the setup before shipping. So, I decided to take the plunge. Once it arrived, I was not disappointed. From the smell of the wood, feeling the body of the guitar in my hands, playability and beautiful sound, I was not disappointed at all. It is my prized possession. When in the market for another uke, I will definitely buy from Hawaiian Music Supply! Thank you.

I looked at numerous ukulele websites. I checked reviews and listened to many instruments. Pono brand ukulele rose to the top of every ones short list. After listening to Aaron's review on this site I decided on a Pono acacia tenor ukulele. The price point for this ukulele is very affordable for what I would consider an entry level high quality instrument. Once I got it home the set up was beautiful. It has a good resonating sound with bright quality. It lives up to everything I expected.

I had entry level ukuleles but decided to step up to a better quality instrument. MGM set me up over the phone with no problems. WOW! When I got it I was so impressed by the workmanship. Sounds great! I also ordered it with pickup and Oahu case. The only way to go. All my future ukuleles will come from Hawaii Music Supply. Thanks.

I love this instrument! This was my first uke (besides those that I have borrowed) and I couldn't ask for more. It feels very solid and is incredibly easy to play. The set up allows for almost perfect intonation all the way up the neck. I have used it in many shows and have no problem cutting through the rest of the instruments. Great ukulele! Wonderful buy.

This is my second tenor uke and I couldn't be more pleased with the sound and workmanship. The tone is great and it's easy on the eyes as well. However, when I replaced the original Ko'olau strings with Aquila strings, I found out that these lower tension strings seem to create a buzz in the C string. I'll have to go back to Ko'olau strings and hope that takes care of the problem.
