I wanted a nice laminate concert that I could not worry about so much here in the extreme climate of the Midwest. Portability aside, it's just a nice uke! Well constructed. Good intonation. Great set-up by HMS. I get lots of comments on how "cute" it is, but also how amazingly LOUD it is! The thin body actually makes it very comfortable to hold. We recently did a ukulele flash mob in a local supermarket - I stitched a secret pocket into my winter coat and went packin' this baby!

I taught my friend some basic chords on my ukulele, and he ended up loving the uke so much that he ended up getting himself a uke for Christmas. I helped him choose one, and he had a budget of 200 dollars. I saw this one, and told him that a travel size ukulele wouldn't sound as good. But when I played it, i was surprised by how loud it was for its size. The solid spruce top made the sound bright and still loud enough to be heard clearly. And everything had been set up nicely. Great instrument, and it comes with a case. Make sure to get a humdifier so the top doesn't warp though. If you take care of it, this uke will last a very long time!

I have owned this ukulele for a few months now and I am extremely happy with it. I read so many things about this ukulele and I am glad I took the plunge. It may not be as good as some of the more pricey ukuleles, but in my opinion its packing a lot more than that $200 price range indicates. It's loud, VERY loud. It's crisp and warm at the same time. A perfect ukulele for beginner or intermediate player.

I purchased this ukulele 3 months ago and took it on a 4 week tour of China. I wanted to keep up with my uke playing in my spare time while traveling. The idea of a thinner travel size instrument sounded great, but mid-way through the trip our luggage was poorly handled and the neck separated from the body. But, upon returning, it was fixed and plays perfectly again. The sound is good for a smaller ukulele, but if you are used to playing a larger more expensive ukulele you might be disappointed . If you want a small, light uke to take with you for fun music sessions, this is a good choice, just be sure to take better care of it than I did- any ukulele in a semi- soft case needs to be handled with a greater degree of care

Fits nicely in a beach bag, enough volume to hear over the surf. With a proper setup, intonation improves.
