Purchased this instrument with an K&K passive pickup installed and low G Aquila Red strings. I'm pretty sure the description is inaccurate, and that this has an ebony fingerboard rather than rosewood. Otherwise, it is some intensely dark rosewood. Feels quality, has great tone. Doesn't project quite as much as my Kala SMH-C, but that may owe a lot to the string choice (Red versus Super Nylgut). Overall, a lovely instrument to play.
