If you're looking for a resource to help you start playing the ukulele this is a great book to buy. It has all of the information to get you going, from diagrams of parts of the ukulele, playing position, tuning (with and without an electric tuner), and strumming, all the way to music theory including an introduction to scales, time signatures and chord families.

Music is written in standard notation as well as tablature. The music is very easy and the pace and progression of lessons is very good.

This is a great beginner book and will probably be too low of a level for those with previous musical background. However, for beginners it is a great to have that you can keep for reference. For the price, it is a great value. Recommended!
