A superb deal as we make room for new models. This one has been a best seller for the last 5 years.

Made EXCLUSIVELY for us here at The Ukulele Site, so you won't see this model anywhere else! We sat down with Kala and designed this model to be the best affordable all solid wood tenor. It has a spruce top and natural (non stained) mahogany. We had them round the corners more than they usually do for nice soft edges, and ebony fretboard and bridge for a beautiful organic look and wonderful feel.

Take a listen to Corey playing our special model with this sweet sound sample.

Mahagony gives a very balanced tone overall, with mixes of warm and good resonances. We really love Spruce wood as a top of the ukulele for its clarity, projection, durabaility, and amazing overtones. We felt this was a top wood combination, espcially at this price point. We are proud to offer this product!

This ukulele is superb in sound, price, and being a minimalist. I am a loyal HMS fan since 10 years ago, and their setup does not disappoint. It is perfect. The satin finish was also really nice. However before the satin finish was apply, Kala probably forgot to wipe clean the body so there is water/dirt marks being underneath the satin coat. The uku is perfect other than this issue. If it has a radius fretboard, it will be truly perfect for me :)

I received this Spruce/Mahogany Kala tenor today, and what a big surprise. I had listened to all of the sound samples by Corey and Kalei, and even the long discussion about Mexican restaurants and such. So... on a whim, and with a few bucks burning a hole in my pocket, I placed my order and specs for the full setup. Today it arrived and what I was not prepared for is how wondrously loud this little puppy is. So loud in fact that my wife said she thought it was plugged in......and that's straight out of the box. Add to that the punch and bark from the Mahogany/Spruce combo and this one just cries for some 12 bar blues. And, a last final thanks to Joel and all the crew in the setup shop. They hit my requirements right to the Millimeter.

I bought this uke for my dad as a Christmas present after doing a lot of research to find a mahogany body uke around the $200 price point. I paid $219 for this uke in December of 2020. It has since gone up in price about $90, and it’s no surprise why - it truly is a fantastic value. I got the chance to play it myself and it is wonderfully resonant and easy to play. It’s very simple, no frills, no binding or anything like that, but it sounds great. I think Kala and The Ukulele Site did an excellent job with this.

I love this ukulele. I upgraded from a Lanakai soprano and I just can't believe the difference in quality and sound. I can't ever go back to playing the other and I want to play this one all day long. I've had it for a few months now and I still love it and am already planning on my next purchase from HMS. The staff helped me narrow down my choice because they make every uke on their site sound so good! I'm glad for their time and attention. It took a month to get to me but it was worth the wait. I won't buy a ukulele from anywhere else.

This is my second Ukulele. My first was a $50 Lanakai Soprano. The sound and quality difference are amazing. I didn't know what I was missing but I have had this new Kala for over a week and I don't want to put it down. I had a hard time deciding as the guys make every Uke on the site sound incredible but I knew I wanted a solid wood beginner ukulele and the value was right for this model. I called the store and they helped me narrow it down and I'm happy with my purchase. It did take about a month to get (Washington State) after the full setup but it sounds great and was worth the wait. I'm already planning on my next ukulele and I will no doubt purchase it from HMS because of their amazing quality. Thanks all!
