Pono Acacia Concert! Simple yet tasteful.
Pono Ukulele is a branch of Ko'olau Ukulele. This is the Brand New Acacia Series from Pono. This concert is certainly one of the best deals you can find. It has a wonderful body and projection! The Pono AC is gonna be winning over the hearts of many. Take a listen with Kalei through his sound sample.
Acacia is a family of trees that Hawaiian Koa belongs to. This is not Hawaiian Koa but comes from a very similar species found throughout Asia. This instrument was built on one of the Indonesian Islands with hands on guidance and quality control from the Ko'olau Ukulele Company. These are constructed by the finest instrument makers and to Ko'olau specs and design. This satin finish has a woody look and tone and still shows off this gorgeous Pacific Island wood. We were happy to hear this wood is impressive with tonal character!

Great Uke for the money 0 people found this helpfulI received my Pono concert all acacia back in the summer from Hawaii Music supply. It's a great sounding and very well constructed uke for this price range. I am very pleased with it in every way and the guys at HMS provided great service and info over the phone. I can't say enough about how good they are to deal with. Excellent set-up on the instrument. Plays great!

Beautiful and punchy 0 people found this helpfulBeautiful wood that has a 3d-ish kind of effect. Wood has an excellent tone. I can feel the back of the ukulele vibrating when I play it. Not Hawaiian koa? But for the price it is hard to beat.

Stunning ukulele with beatiful sound! 0 people found this helpfulThe Pono Acacia Concert with satin finish was the second uke I bought, after deciding to upgrade from a cheap entry level uke which i've played for around 6 months. I was looking for a ukulele for an intermidiate uke player, with whole wood, in a concert size for a reasonable price. After playing a shitty ukulele for a long time, I wanted to feel like I was holding a REAL instrument, and not a toy. I'm not really into alot of fancy parts with abalone inlays or a super glossy look, I wanted a clean ukulele with a good sound and a nice 'down to earth' look. I never looked back. This ukulele is stunningly beautiful, without all the inlays or anything, it just shows of the beautiful acacia wood, and sounds tremendous! Paired with Aquila strings this instrument really sounds amazing! I have nothing to regret buying this instrument, it look lovely and sounds even better! Highly reccomnended!

Beautiful Ukulele 0 people found this helpfulI upgraded from a Lanikai LU 21P to this Pono and I am so happy with my decision. This uke sounds so sweet, looks gorgeous, and is easy to play. The sound sample provided here accurately represents what this ukulele sounds like, which is something I was really worried about when looking around online for an ukulele. It's so hard to try to pick out an instrument without ever having played it first but Hawaii Music Supply makes it as easy as possible for those of us without the luxury of a local music shop with quality ukes. The only thing (and it's a very small thing) is that I noticed after a few days that there is what looks like a bit of lint or a small, clear fiber that got caught in the finish on the body of the uke. You don't notice it unless you turn the ukulele just the right way where the light catches it. It's so unobtrusive that I never notice it unless I make the effort to find it, so it's not a problem for me. Other than that one, small, insignificant thing, this ukulele is perfect and I am very happy with it. This was my first time purchasing an ukulele from Hawaii Music Supply and I will definitely be coming back for all future ukulele purchases (in fact, I've already ordered another uke from here as a birthday gift for someone else!) I love the HMS setup and the shipping was quick and not too expensive.

authentic sound, great player, looks cool 0 people found this helpfulAs far as a German Player can say so--it has a real authentic Hawaiian sound, specially with " Aquila" strings its fun to play even at the " higher" frets, looks really cool -but the tuning machines could be of a little better quality..
