The MT is a fairly simple tenor with less "frills" than others. The tone and playability are where it's at with this model. And the new look is sharp! The construction and finish is very clean, with a transparent smooth satin, almost semi-gloss, natural finish. If you want a good look without it being shiny, this may be the right uke for you.

The ebony at the bridge, fingerboard, and headstock, and even the black buttons on the Grover tuners follow the two-toned theme with mahogany. This is Honduran solid quarter-sawn mahogany, a high-quality tonewood. The superior acoustic qualities are apparent. Many have gigged and recorded albums with this model. This latest batch, with ebony and being re-voiced, is the best Pono MT yet!

This has always been one of the most loved models in store and on the website. The Pono MT has a bone nut and saddle, Grover geared tuning keys, and a dual-action truss rod for adjusting the neck. But just looking at the "specs" won't really tell you how good an ukulele is. The great thing about this instrument is the sound and feel.

This has taken care of my UAS! Sounds and plays beautifully! String it up with some Worth Clears and it takes the tone to a whole other level. Craftmanship and build are top notch. Feels like a "real" instrument, not a toy.

I just got the soprano version of this Pono, the MS. The quality of workmanship is outstanding and the sound is amazing. Volume and projection similar to lesser tenors. I am amazed at the resonance of a brand new instrument. The intonation is excellent for a soprano. Ultra high quality pretty mahogany. Set up is perfect without any fret buzz. Now I have to learn how to press very gently to avoid overstretching strings and distorting the chords. For a person with small or weak hands, this is the instrument to buy. Tiny work of art.

I just got this beautiful uke 1 h ago. I like the solid build and satin finish of this MT. Awesome sound. I had a soprano uke to start with. Now I got this tenor as an entry level to pro-class build ukes. It will be definitely worth your money if you are in the same situation like where I was. At last but no the least, the setup with low G is great and thank you HMS!

My expectations were entirely exceeded... superb attention to detail in the construction and craftsmanship, seductive yet simple finish and a mellow booming sound that vibrates your body - simply wow. Strung it up with some ko'olau golds and now it has a beautiful liveliness to it as well..

OUTSTANDING! Hello Mates ! In a word this is an (outstanding) Ukulele ! I would recommend that you save your $ and wait if you have to to buy the Pono MT. I've had the cheep/ less expensive laminate Ukue's and they are fine, but once you play this one you wont want to bother with the others- really ! I can compare this to the following and tell you that it is superior in every way: Islander- AT, Islander -MT & Kala Solid mahogany Tenor, all good but not even close to the Pono MT Aaron recommended this Uke and he was 100% correct. I'm not a snob about stuff and I always look for a good deal and I can tell you that while this Uke is a few bucks more that it is a good deal at this price. Happy Strumming
